The challenge
Edinor’s slogan, “Édifier le Nord,” is about building cottages and chalets in the forests of northern Quebec. The brand needed to appeal to both renovation and interior design clients, balancing the rugged side of construction with the softer side of interior design.
The approach
Logo
Lowercase letters in a rounded typeface soften the wordmark, while its bold weight reflects the strength of construction. I designed the tree symbol to represent the region’s forests.
Colour & type
The palette is drawn from the colours of pine wood. The typeface looks round but has subtly sharp corners, a nod to the clean edges of cut lumber.
Collateral & social media
I designed business cards, letterheads and envelopes, plus three social media templates for text-heavy and image-only posts, along with extra graphics the client could reuse.
Website
After wireframing and prototyping, I designed the high-fidelity site, contrasting rough wood with interior shots to show both sides of the business and recolouring photos in Photoshop for a consistent tone. Because the site would live in HubSpot, a limited CMS, I kept the design simple, then built it myself and tested it across browsers and phones.
The outcome
Edinor received a complete, cohesive identity that carries from its website and stationery to social media, vehicles and merchandise.
